Not many newborns love the camera like Callie does. She was so patient and sweet, it was a blast to photograph her! What a doll baby with such perfect features. She is already a great poser, at only four days old. With a newborn you are lucky to get this many different setups in a few hours and a few smiles are a nice bonus. It usually takes a few sessions to catch them asleep and awake and not crying.  Plus you have to account for nursing time, spitting, pooping and peeing cleanups and backdrops changes. The styling and posing takes longer too. But she was a champ…so darling and cooperative! What a great temperament, but that comes from her parents.. two of the nicest people on the planet.

I have a south facing room with a bed next to a large window. I put a sheet on that window, since it was a sunny day. So that made a giant softbox of natural light. Then we closed the door and cranked the heat up to keep her comfortable. I didn’t even have to get out my big continuous studio lights. That was nice, since I thought we might have to use those. I would love to hear what you think of this newborn photo session.
