Join me for 40 days in Europe with my “Enlighten” project as I discover and capture the People, Culture and Landscape through photos and videos using the lighting techniques of the master painters of the Renaissance and Baroque periods.
We will be starting in the Netherlands by studying the works of Rembrandt and other Dutch artists who used an “enlighten” technique called Chiaroscuro to enhance light and shadows. I will incorporate these principles in the environmental portraits and landscapes I will be capturing as I travel throughout the country.
My tentative itinerary starts along the Rhine River, traveling through Germany and Austria. While in Italy, Switzerland, France, and Belgium, I’ll be studying the works of Da Vinci, Michelangelo, Caravaggio and other Renaissance and Baroque influencers. After
Along the way, I plan to interview and photograph the people in their natural environments and landscapes to experience their cultures and enlighten my work with their history.
