Egin Lakes at sunrise was the first stop on a recent class photo excursion with some advanced students. Egin Lakes is in the sand dunes recreation area outside St. Anthony, Idaho. We were pleseantly surprised to have perfect conditions to get a nice silhouette of the Tetons in the distance, which showed up best just before sunrise. Once the sun came up, the tetons got that familiar haze and it was harder to photograph them in the background. Our timing was perfect to get some pre-dawn images and then capture the first crowning when the sunflares are at their best. It was cold, but well worth braving the brisk air to get some sunrise images and it served as a nice way to start our Upper Valley loop photo excursion. It was fun to everyone setting up their cameras and tripods to get the reflection and colors on the water.This was a great way to start off a long day of landscape, old building and food shooting.
