I had fun shooting and editing this guy. First I must say he was the best model I have ever seen. He worked so hard he was wet with perspiration, which made it even better. It looks like he was yelling, but he stayed perfectly quiet and focused on constant round of warrior poses. He was just incredible and fun to photograph. One of my favorite things about the Photoshop World Expo in Las Vegas, Sept 5-10, 2011 was shooting the models at the Westcott booths. This image is part of a series of portraits I entered in the Westcott Shootout Contest on flickr. Well, some of them were a bit too risque for my taste, so I avoided about half of the models. This guy though was the real deal and he was a natural actor who posed himself and worked hard to make it real. He would be good for a Book of Mormon movie, don’t you think? Which character? How about Ammon… Doesn’t he look like he could cut off the arms of king’s enemies?
My edits include overall sharpening, eye and teeth highlights, along with some saturation and levels. Here is the original image I shot with my Nikon D7000:
