Take a few hours to stroll through the U.S. Botanic Garden near the U.S. Capital building in Washington D.C., if you love to view and/or photograph beautiful flowers. The orchid show was in full swing while I was recently in D.C., and I thoroughly enjoyed the variety of flora in this free garden. They close right at 5:00 pm, so we only had 30 minutes, but it was enough time to get several flower shots. This was one of my favorites. I like the texture and color contrast of the brown vines behind the white orchids. Of course, the low angled light was coming in the greenhouse glass at a nice angle to produce some interesting shadows.
