Visiting a fascinating tribe where everyone wears turbans… sometimes covered with a large hat or scarf. This is a handy custom, especially when you don’t do your hair! But I needed help to fix my turban so I demonstrate how easy it is to stop the van and make friends with total strangers (not speaking any English) who appear to be having some time of village festival! There are dozens of different tribes in the mountains of Myanmar and each village speaks a different dialect, adhering strictly to their own customs. Some wear certain clothing, hats, beautiful tattoos, or heavy rings around their necks, like the long-neck ladies.
