Before we went to San Francisco the end of July, two people told us to be sure and visit the Muir Woods National Monument. This advice came from two reliable sources whom I trust: my father and my dear friend, Maija-Liisa, who lived in the area for awhile. So we made this stop part of our plan and we were pleasantly surprised at the natural beauty of this redwood forest. I have been in many beautiful redwoods before, but there is something special about this forest. The reverence of nature seems to abound in every moist leaf and moss-covered branch. I loved the signs that reminded us to be quiet, so we would not disturb the peace and serenity for others visiting and meditating in the woods. I loved our visit to Muir Woods National Monument near the Golden Gate Bridge in the San Francisco Bay Area.
