Exactly one week ago, we were all just finishing up our final fireworks celebrations, so I thought I would honor that memory one last time with this final reflection image. I captured this exposure right before the main fireworks started at the Island Park Lake Lodge on the Island Park Reservoir, Idaho. Many anxious spectators were waiting for the show from the vantage of their boats, and a few zealots were providing us with a nice little preshow. Some kids were shooting off spinners just below us at the water’s edge, while some cabin owners were sharing their aerials on the opposite shore. The sky color was inspiring and it all provided a nice precursor for the big celebration about to start.
I hope we can all appreciate the freedoms we enjoy throughout the next year, until we can celebrate this great nation once again on our next Independence Day… just 51 weeks from now.
Hmmm… That’s probably my favorite one! I like the shadows and the reflecting lights! Very cool.
Such a peaceful and calm picture but yet tells such a great story. I love it!
