Which are your favorite shots of Scott & Rachel?
(Just click pics to enlarge)
I flew out to D.C. last weekend to take engagement photos for Rachel and her fiance, Scott. We had a great time checking out all the sights and their favorite spots. The happy couple met last summer while Rachel was doing an internship at the Chinese Trade Office, and Scott was enrolled in summer term at Georgetown. They have had a fun year traveling back and forth between Boston and D.C., though the long-distance relationship has not been the most convenient. 😉 Scott proposed to Rachel in the Rose Garden at the White House, which was quite exciting to say the least! They had a friend who was working there and managed to get them in for the special occasion. They will be married in the Idaho Falls Temple on July 25, 2009. The next step is to get the wedding website up and running. I will post a link when that is done.
Your daughter is ENGAGED! That is so wonderful!! I think the second row, to the left, B&W is my favorite. Congrats! I just wanted to also let you know we decided to set our blog to private and we would love to add you so you can keep up with our family. If you would like, please email me your email address and we will add you! M2a2e2@gmail.com
I love them all! I don’t know if I could pick the best… but my favorites are the black and white one at the top, the one of the couple in front of the grass and big tree near the bottom and the ones in front of (is that?) the Lincoln Monument(? – I don’t know my historical landmarks very well!). Anyhow – how exciting! They all turned out very very nice!
Mom! These are so great! Thank you so much! Wow, I never cease to be amazed at how artistic you are, and how incredible your photographs are. It’s such a blessing to have you as an engagement photographer – and especially as a mother!
I love you, Mom. And – HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
First of all, how in the WORLD did Rachel feel about kissing in front of her mom??? I mean, you're totally a super cool mother but I'm thinking here about makin' out in front of my mom and hives are forming around my collar bone.
Second, I'm not sure how you can lay out a feast such as this and ask us to pick a favorite??? They are all so perfect. Someday, someday……
I do love the b&w one in the second row from the top. And the one in front of the water fountain. And the torso shot. See? Can't pick just one.
my favorite is either the 2nd from the top on the left (either in b/w or color) or the 5th one down on the right where it’s just their bodies! I was in your class a few years ago…2005 or 6 maybe? I do wedding and engagement photography now as a side job. My husband was living in DC while we were engaged and he’ll be there for half the summer doing an internship so it holds a special place in our hearts too. We watched the fireworks on the 4th of July from the white house lawn (my brother-in-law is a secret service agent so we get some pretty sweet hook ups!) I love visiting your blog from time to time, now you’ve got me hooked on Bakerella’s blog too though…all because of that cake pop post!
The photos are so beautiful! I especially like the one of them painting the crosswalk on the road – the idea is fun and unique! I also like the one in the brick archway and the one of them running in the second row.
LOVE THEM!! Great job mom (and rachel & scott)!!
What a fun place to take shots, esp. since you met and were engaged there! You are gorgeous Rachel and so talented mom!- My faves are the first one and last one and the one that everyone else likes in B&W and color- awesome!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!!!! Can't wait for the summer fun to start this weekend!
I like the 2nd row, on the left. Black and white more than the color of it later.
Caryn, you did such an amazing job on these! Wow! I am really having trouble picking a favorite, but I think it is between the very first one (Supreme Court steps) or the one with the really colorfol buildings in the background. Wow wow! thank you so much again!
To echo what Rachel said, thak you thank you! We love you, and especially, happy birthday!
Love, Scott
P.S. The one of us in black and white with the color reflection on the metro escalator is SO COOL!!!!!!
Caryn,
Wow! I am going to have to take a class from you if we ever move back down to Southern Idaho. You have come a LONG ways since we were in classes together. Great job!
Hey Mom! You did a fantastic job. I love the 2nd and 4th ones down on the right. It was hard to choose, though, because they’re all AMAZING!
Love, Zoe
you did a great job i love the one wear they are painting the street. love it sister esplin . cassidee
These are absolutely amazing and they are going to have some great pictures of them hanging in their first house together! So lucky to have such a great photographer that happens to love them!
I think the first one and the black and white one are a tie for my favorite…but the picture of them painting lines on the street is PRICELESS!!
