Another great drive south of the San Francisco Bay Area is around Carmel. Just south of Carmel, California, along the beautiful coastal Highway 1, sits this quaint little general store and gas station. It is so picturesque with old English red telephone booths, antique light-up gas pumps, and a general store covered with flowering vines. As you ride along the incredible Highway 1 coastline, south of Carmel, you can stop here and fill up. You will think you are in Europe!
Beautiful shots of a beautiful place! I love that area a lot, so picturesque. Nicely done, as usual.
Thanks for the comment, Brent!
Nicely done! I think the first one is my favorite – for some reason – because you can see into the phone booth and all the detail of everything around it.
It is great to hear from you, Dustin. Did you get as far as Monterey, Carmel and Big Sir when you visited the bay area? There is so much to see and do all around San Fran. I made some notes about things to do and photograph next time. We also went to the Stanford campus so Zoe could check it out and get a t-shirt! We missed stopping by the mother ship in Cupertino. I have been there though and enjoyed shopping with our discount for the day. 🙂
I never did make it that far! I really want too though – I started making a list to of things I need to next time I’m there. We might have to share and combine. 🙂 — The “Mother Ship.” Haha! That made me laugh… but it’s just great to say that you have been there before. Sounds like you had a blast and could have used more time there, I know I could have!
I love your photography Caryn. Whoever made the sign for the store did a nice job it is the cherry on top. I hope to do a series on Las Vegas signs and urban night photography.
Love the english box! I have had to use those many times and been grateful to get out of the rain even when i didn’t need to call anyone! lol Fabulous HDR? Yours are so seamless, i just never know if it’s all you or some if some HDR was slapped onto it as a finishing touch to an already sweet shot!
