It is an extreme pleasure to welcome a talented and versatile photographer, AJ Buruca, as my second Guest Photographer. (See my first guest: Marissa Carlson here) AJ can shoot and edit anything! He is an expert with light painting, macro, food, portrait, you name it. I love his cityscape and architectural images. He does a tasteful, professional job with his HDR images. Take a look for yourself and leave a comment with which images you like best! Please welcome, my friend, the incredible…

It is an honor to be featured in Caryn Esplin’s blog. I have been able to learn a lot from her in her Digital Imaging and her new Professional Imaging courses at BYU-Idaho. I have done photography as a hobby for about two or three years now, but professionally since the start of the Professional Imaging course in September 2012.
I like to consider myself a multi-purpose photographer. I like to try out new things and share them with the world. Currently I have tried out macro, portrait, HDR, landscape, food and product, light painting and many other creative photography works. One of my favorite types of photography is cityscape. I was born and raised in Boston, where my passion for photography began.
At first I was terrified of using Photoshop, or any type of photo editing software. Now as an experienced photographer I use a lot of editing techniques for editing my photos. My current editing process consists of Lightroom 4, Photoshop CS6, Photomatix for HDR processing. My editing process tends to change a lot as I discover new formats of editing to improve my photos.

Stunning work by AJ! He truly is an inspiration of being so versatile and trying new things! His shots are absolutely superb! He really has mastered HDR! Some of my favorites are of the water and temple square! Not only is he the king of SEO, but he is also such a self starter and always shooting no matter what! I really admire that! Go AJ thanks for inspiring us all with your beautiful photos!
Thank you Katie for the nice comment. My favorites are the water ones too. The details of the image came out well. we should go out and shoot together before we all graduate.
AJ, you have some great photos here – but my favorite are your HDRs of City Creek in Salt Lake City! They encourage me to drive down there and take my own photos they look so good! Keep up the good work!
Thank you Dustin. I encourage you to make the drive down there some time. The results are so worth it. The water fountains and other decorations that they have at City Creek Center are so creative.
AJ you are awesome! It has been so fun and such a pleasure working with you! Thank you for always being willing to help me out. I have always been able to count on you! You are awesome too Julie. It has been fun to work with you. I got very lucky with that water drop. It was a surprise when I found it on my SD card after taking many pictures that day.
AJ! Love how you are still pushing yourself. I’d have to agree with Dustin. The City Creek Pictures are my favorite. Just a great amount of HDR. Keep pushing yourself. You rock!
Thanks Rebecca. I try to push myself to the extreme a lot. The results are great. Just need to sleep more. 🙂
