Special Lighting techniques and a beautiful setting product Amazing Product Photography!
When it comes to product photography, LESS IS MORE! Actually I use this acronym: “LSS” to teach the basic principles of product photography to my Comm 316 Professional Imaging college students at BYU-Idaho. First is L for “Light it” Excellent and appropriate auxiliary lighting is the key! Next is S for “Style it” Notice how the students have used nature and styling props to show their products in an appealing way. Finally S is for “Separate it” It is critical to make sure the product stands out from the background through lighting, color, or camera techniques to blur the background so it brings the focus of attention to the product.
Check out some of the amazing results from these students during our big photo excursion in Victor, Idaho, Jackson Hole Wyoming and the Grand Teton National Park. We practice a variety of professional photography techniques. These locations gave the students excellent backdrops for their products. Of course it takes excellent auxiliary lighting, whether your product is inside or outside. Aren’t that amazing? Feel free to click the links under each photo to see more of that student’s work on their own websites. Then go to their contact page and hire them to shoot some products for your business!
