This is the seventh weekend I have hosted a Mystery Photo contest. This time the winner will be the first and most accurate guess. What were my camera settings, techniques, lighting, time of day and post processing? The winner will get his or her name into my Christmastime camera gear giveaway! Just comment on this blog post and give me your best guess. Thanks for participating!
DANNY MORGAN IS THE WINNER! You were all very close, but Danny had the most correct answer. Here are my settings:
F/9 8″ ISO 400. I used a tripod and two continuous 160 LED lights at 7:30p.m. I used one light to “paint in” the areas what needed it. The other light was on a light stand.
Congratulations, Danny! I will put your name in my drawing again. But thanks to all three of you for participating. You becoming experts at learning to guess the settings and that is a very good thing indeed. 🙂
I believe that you camera settings were IOS of 400, with a shutter speed of 6 seconds and an aperture of F11. The camera was on a tripod and you had two continues lights lighting the image. Besides that I don’t think you really did anything else to this image except put on your watermark. Thanks for all the help this weekend!
Based on what we did at the Idaho Falls temple last night, I am guessing that your settings were a shutter speed of about 6 seconds, F/9 or F/11. I know that you used 2 continuous LED lights, one on each side. Your ISO was probably around 400. I don’t think that you made any edits to the image other than your watermark and sizing the image down.
I just realized that I forgot the time of day. I wanna say it was around 7:15-7:30PM range. and you did use a tripod
Ok for this picture I’m guessing that your aperture was set at f/9, your ISO 400, and an 8 second shutter speed. You used a tripod and two continuous lights. One continuous light you didn’t move, and the other you painted the waterfall with. I don’t think that any edits were done to this image, (except for the watermark), and it was taken around 7:30 at night.

I agree, a year ago, I was not able to do such a thing.
