I had some fun taking abstract photos from the car on the way home from Jackson Hole, Wyoming, around the Palisades area. My first abstract was a “happy accident.” I had my camera on a slow shutter speed rather than a fast one to compensate for the movement of the car. Then I liked what I saw, so I experimented with it and came up with this. This post will be a tribute to Julieanne Kost from Photoshop World, who shoots beautiful abstracts from a moving car. I did some color and sats adjustments in Camera Raw to bring out the beautiful fall colors I was seeing. I love the wide variety of blurred colors. I am not sure this would be so fun at a different time of year. I do love the fall! Many of my favorites included compositions with some white aspens to provide contrast to all the color. Happy Autumn Abstract Splash of Color!
This is absolutely beautiful! You know how I feel about Julianne Kost. You have created art with these shots. I love the texture and I think that is how you have made these shots your own style. The cross hatching detail, is so fascinating! The second image is my favorite and belongs on my wall! These are so beautiful, I love them. We will have to do them sometime together. I hope I do not have to have the filter to creates these.
Did I mention that I love this!
Well I have to agree with Julie. I LOVE these! I love that you put into motion what Julianne Kost does and teaches. My favorite is the first one. I love how some of the leaves look almost feather like. The colors are vibrant. This makes me not want to be a driver so much and enjoy the trip through my camera!
Wow! Seriously that first photo is beautiful! It looks so much like a painting! Thoroughly impressed with this post. Well done! I would love to do this technique driving through Aspen, Colorado during the Fall. Could you imagine?!
Anyway, beautiful work!
