If you want a really fun time, throw some big lights in your trunk, along with your DSLR and tripod, then set out to find something to light paint at night. There were four of us riding home on I-15 from Photoshop World (in a very sweet ride..haha) and when we saw a nice sunset, we decided to pull over at the next exit. We just happened to find ourselves in the quaint little town of Nephi, Utah. First we took some shots of an old Ford flatbed truck, and the milky way was looking mighty fine in that location. Which, by the way, you can capture nicely if you use a high ISO like 3200 and a wide aperture of about f/4. Then just leave your shutter open for around 15 seconds, or whatever is needed to expose the scene. Of course, we added some light on the trucks to reveal them from the dark.

Then we ventured down on main street and found a charming old water wheel and a pair of self-made mechanics trying to fix their rig, that was obviously just back from a four-wheelin’ mud adventure. Fun times for the Fearsome Foursome in Nephi, Utah!
