For the second year in a row, BYU-Idaho has a top winner at Photoshop World! We had a group of 28 from BYU-Idaho and it was a very successful week of networking, competing, portfolio interviews, photographing, and learning from the world’s best photographer and designers. Students earned a right to attend one of the world’s largest digital photography conference by being active in the BYU-I Photographics Society and finishing Caryn Esplin’s Comm 300 Digital Imaging course with high marks.
Congrats to our Rebecca Johnston for bringing home one of the seven coveted Photoshop World Guru Awards. We had two of the three finalists in the Photo Retouching category: Rebecca Johnston and Katie Anderson. They both submitted amazing entries, along with all the other students. You can see many of their contest entries in my previous blog post. Seriously, their work is extremely high quality. I am so proud of all of them. Several have already heard back from people at Adobe and other companies. This was a busy and exhausting week, but it was so worth it! Last year, Andrea Hernandez, a BYU-I Comm Dept. graduate won the Retouching Guru Award.
I love this Caryn! Such a great week for everyone. This is a program that I hope continues with the University because it is so valuable for the students who attend. I’m still in shock over the Guru win. What an amazing time.
Just testing to see if the comments are working…
I love these Caryn! I’m so glad you captured the moment. What an amazing week at PSW12. This was such a great opportunity and I hope the University continues to see value in sending students to this conference because it is so amazing.
A big congrats to both Rebecca and Katie for having their entries as finalist and to Rebecca for winning the Guru. I got to meet both of them briefly before the keynote address. It looks like your program is doing very well.
