The next time you are in the San Francisco Bay Area, make sure you drive south to the Monterey Area. We had just started down the 17-mile drive south of Monterey, CA, on the way to Carmel, when we drove by Spanish Bay Beach and it was full of these rock stacks. I just love the way they looked, so we stopped to hang out and photograph the beach. Zoe made a stack of her own. I love the random orange rocks with all the gray ones. I shot a few with my iPad, so I posted some on instagram, where my former TA, Jentry King, saw them and reminded me they are called CAIRNS, which sounds a lot like my name, Caryn. Now I know why I am so drawn to stone cairns!
