One of the most spectacular coastlines on the west coast has got to be between Carmel and Big Sur. Seriously… incredible! I love the entire Oregon Coast too, and some of the accessible areas of the Washington Coast, but this drive near Big Sur is breathtaking. We were conveniently driving there for sunset and I shot all these without a tripod (so I had to shoot at 800 ISO, which is still high quality on a Nikon D7000) and without HDR processing. I did some camera raw edits, along with some Nik processing. My favorite area was right around the old Rocky Creek Bridge, erected in 1932. So, on your next trip to San Francisco, drive down to Monterey, Carmel and then Big Sur! I will be posting images for the next several weeks from our recent trip to the Bay Area.
Big Sur is beautiful and spectacular. You have captured that beauty so vividly. I love the lighting and how crisp and detailed everything is My favorite are the top two. Love them. I hope you enjoyed your time there to explore all the beauty around.
I love this part of the California coast. I grew up in California and have many fond memories of trips and vacations from one end of the California coast to the other. Your photos are lovely and show the beauty of this place. I especially like the first one. Under normal circumstances I’d be jealous of your trip, but last weekend we took a trip along a very remote and wild part of the eastern New Zealand coast. It was breathtakingly beautiful and a photographer’s dream!
