BYU-Idaho students named as TOP GURU FINALISTS
…at the world’s largest photography and lighting conference!
Photoshop World is held in Las Vegas, Nevada, August 10-13, 2015
This is amazing news! Yesterday the experts at KelbyOne and Photoshop World selected the top 21 GURU finalists from over 800 entries and we have 4 of those top 21 from our own BYU-Idaho Photographics Society! As the advisor and instructor for this group, I could not be happier! But let me say I am so proud of all 18 of my students who all did a fabulous job with their contest entries. We are going to rock Photoshop World next week! I am so proud of each one of them!
Special congratulations to these students whose 4 entries have been named as finalists! Three finalists have been selected in each of the seven categories. A winner in each of the 7 categories will be names at the closing ceremony on Thursday, August 13. While we have consistently had at least one finalist each year, this is the first time we have had 4 Finalist Entries from current students… “Woohoo!”

Congratulations BYUI students and Caryn Esplin for exceptional work! And a special commendation to my son in law, Tyler Clay and his favorite model (my daughter)Hillary. You are both such hard workers developing your blossoming talents. Nice job everyone!
Thanks, Gaylene! Your daughter and son-in-law Tyler are so amazing, smart and talented! I just love them both. I remember seeing how your daughter cared for a friend of mine at the assisted living home. She is amazing! Tyler is such an incredibly talented photographer and all-around Visual Communication expert!
Caryn,
This is so exciting! Douglas’s photo, “Front Porch”, is a picture of my grandmother with her birth parents. They passed away when she was quite young and she was later adopted. This is the only picture we have of them. Pretty cool that we even have one picture, yes? We are very fortunate to benefit from Douglas’s amazing talent. This one is going on my wall, for sure. 🙂
We are crossing our fingers for Douglas, and all of our BYUI students!
Thank you for all you do. Our students are so lucky to learn from you.
Best luck to everyone!
